OOjEE is a women-founded, Miami-based startup that saves you money every time you eat out. Karen Beber and Missy Sturgis, both with a passion for food, adventure travel and social impact, wanted families and foodies everywhere to sustain their lifestyle without breaking the bank. Following their dedication to giving back, OOjEE supports local businesses, helps feed people in the community, and keeps food waste out of landfills.

Eating out can become a significant expense. According to the US Bureau of Economic Analysis, on average, Americans eat out 5.9x/week, spending over $3,000.00 annually. By using OOjEE, savings can amount to over $600.00 per person—every year!

Since the early days of the pandemic, OOjEE's sustainable model helped connect the dots between restaurants and the organizations that feed people. They also managed all logistics for the Coconut Grove (Miami) Business Improvement District's initiative, The Grove Stove, delivering over 7,000 meals within the local community.

Who Are We?
We're foodies! We love the culture of food, and we also love to save money! Whether with family, friends or by ourselves, food inspires good things. Food can take us on trips where we may never travel. Or, perhaps, back to where we have traveled! It allows us to experience so many cultures, including our own, or simply celebrate life itself.

Why the name OOjEE?
We took the phonetics from SAUDE (pronounced s-ahh-OO-jee), which is both the Portuguese word for health and the English equivalent of "Cheers!" Then we created our own iteration of what "toasting" means to us. A toast is one of the world's most enduring traditions. Whether it's New Year's Eve, your best friend's wedding, dinner at a Michelin-starred restaurant, or just a casual dinner amongst friends, odds are you've toasted a special occasion by raising your glass. We want to bring that same excitement and cheerfulness to our everyday lives.
