We use high frequency sound waves to transmit data wirelessly through water. Existing wireless underwater modems can transfer ~1picture/min; Our high-frequency acoustic modem is 1000 times faster and can live-stream video. We were named "most promising startup" at the world's largest oil and gas trade show in Houston, and have received more than $3 million in seed funding and contracts to date. Our technology is based on 18 years of R&D and more than $50M in research funding. OceanComm was spun out of the University of Illinois in 2014 and is a prime contractor to the US Navy.
