NovoMoto is a sustainable social enterprise that aims to solve the problem of electricity access in off-grid, rural communities. Some of the global regions that are hit hardest by this issue are Sub-Saharan Africa, India and Central & South America. NovoMoto focuses on providing energy solutions to the Sub-Saharan region specifically, which is home to almost 600 million people living without electricity. Our first target market is the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), where the electrification rate is 9% leaving almost 68 million people without power. We solve the issue of electricity access by providing customers stand-alone solar energy systems through a pay-as-you-go business model. This provides access to efficient lighting and electricity through means that are cheaper, cleaner and more energy efficient than the kerosene and diesel currently used in these communities.
