Neuron Guard is developing a medical device to help professionals and laypersons to treat patients after brain damages at the site of the event.
Acute Brain Damage is becoming one of the emerging challenges of modern Emergency Medicine with direct and indirect costs that may not be sustainable in the near future. Hypothermia is one of the most effective strategies to reduce ABD. We develop an on-site integrated solution made of a disposable refrigerating collar and a collar control unit, capable of achieving and maintaining a level of therapeutic hypothermia of the head district. In fact, rapidly cooling the brain significantly reduces the extension of the damage. Our UVP is "early on-site treatment" to develop and introduce into clinical practice an innovative, effective and simple solution for the emergency and hospital treatment of ABD. Our vision is to have a Neuron Guard Kit in every public places exactly as the AEDs (Automatic External Defibrillator) to saving millions of lives.
