Jaundice, one of the world’s most commonly occurring problems, impacts 6 out of 10 newborn infants worldwide according to the World Health Organization (WHO). Jaundice occurs due to excessive levels of bilirubin as a result of improper liver development.  Infants with the condition who are not treated within two to four days of birth are at risk for severe brain damage and in far too many cases, death. Everyday, either 1400 infants are affected by brain damage or die as a result of it.

NeoLight is a medical device to treat Jaundice in new born infants. It is a small flat portable bed that the infant sleeps on. Unlike the existing devices, it does not cause any side effects and need not be kept in a NICU. It can be kept in the bassinet right beside mother, promoting breast feeding and Kangaroo mother care. Also, the device treats Jaundice using high intensity phototherapy - a unique concept that significantly reduces the treatment time making mothers, hospitals & Medicare happy!
