Moeda’s platform is seeking to achieve the following goals: Financial inclusion: A digital token can travel farther and faster than physical cash ever could. With payments, remittance and lending, the Moeda platform allows underbanked entrepreneurs access to a fast payment ecosystem and business loans using Android and iOS applications. Transparent impact reporting: The platform also gives investors real-time transparency of UN Sustainable Development Goal-aligned Impact Investments. Through the Moeda platform, blockchain-based efficient lending, transfer, and payment transactions will allow Moeda to scale to service more customers and invest in more communities than traditional providers. Cooperative principles: As a cooperative crypto-banking platform, Moeda is organized on a cooperative basis by the people, for the people, and from the people. Moeda will launch its pilot in Brazil in early 2018 in association with Unicafes, an NGO that supports cooperative economic development; the United Nations sustainable development goals initiative; and Green Cross International. The fiat-based Moeda Token is the financial bridge needed to lift rural and unbanked populations.
