Culture and benefits at Medcorder
Culture overview
We have a hybrid remote/local team and process to make the most out of connecting with each other whilst minimizing commuting and overhead. The team gets together in person at the CEO's house in Redwood City on Mondays and in Oakland at a coworking space. The rest of the time we coordinate our work and keep in touch with Slack, Trello, GitHub, Instabug, GSuite, and Figma. This allows us meaningful blocks of uninterrupted "heads down" time to get hard work done but also gives us the face time we need to ensure we're all on the same page, aligned, and understand WHY we are doing what we're doing. As teammates, we put family & health first, which is only natural, since the point of our app is to help patients put family & health first. We support each other bringing our whole selves to work, communicating candidly and lovingly. We work hard, but measure that work in weekly productive output - what we've done to help customers and the product - and not by the number of hours spent sitting in an office or the number of meetings we were in. We have quarterly team offsites where we step back from the day-to-day and wrestle with the larger strategic questions of what we're seeing in the market and how we can deliver magical experiences to patients and their families.
