Medcorder is a free mobile application designed for patients and families to better communicate and coordinate care. With a single tap, patients can record a meeting with a medical professional, have it automatically transcribed, and share it with family. Family members can then discuss the situation to help patients better understand their condition and make better decisions. Giving patients better access to their information in this simple and accessible format could improve patient understanding, retention, and compliance.

With a large population of Baby Boomers in the US rapidly aging out and facing extended periods of decline, their caretakers - largely spouses and adult children - need better tools to stay "in the loop" with their care, especially for complex conditions like cancer, dementia, or ALS. Informal care teams provide a huge proportion of received care but have had little in the way of tools to help communicate, coordinate, and chart patient medical outcomes.
