We are Learning In Geography, Humanities, Technology and Science (LIGHTS), a non-profit organisation set up in 2003. Our all-embracing approach ensures that through the programmes we support and projects we undertake, we reach out to a diverse group of scientists, legal experts, policy makers, academicians and the masses for maximum outreach. Our strengths in research, capacity building and publication make our projects sustainable and fruitful. The major focus areas of LIGHTS are:  To work as a research unit and help create documents and relevant material useful for organisations working in the field of environment and development of India  To regularly organise workshops and seminars with a focus on various development and environment related issues in India  Capacity building of officers in the Government of India through customised training programmes and seminars  To undertake field studies and research projects, particularly in the education and environment sphere
