Leverage Research has two open positions: (1) A History of Science Researcher to conduct historical research into the process of discovery. Investigate critical discoveries in the early history of science and produce in-depth case studies describing the causal factors in those discoveries. Examine the primary and secondary literature, build an understanding of the discovery’s social context, grasp the physical principles or constraints at play, and gain hands-on familiarity with the relevant instruments and experiments. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of independent research experience or a Ph.D. in the history of science, philosophy of science, or a related field. (2) An events and Operations Manager to help us grow our team and events program. Scope, design, and execute internal and external events, managing every stage of the event process and connecting with key stakeholders and members of our network. Take responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the institute including everything from finances to legal compliance to HR. The ideal candidate is highly organized, great at prioritizing, extremely reliable, good with people, and a fast learner.
