Being a Type 1 Diabetic should not stop you from following your dreams. When I was diagnosed three years ago, I became stronger by knowing exactly what my body needs and when. This is crucial for being a professional athlete but also the average Joe. I want to inspire people who live with Diabetes that you can be that star athlete. Being one of the best tennis players in the world has been my dream as long as I can remember and I do not let anything stand in my way, however, it is extremely difficult to fund yourself. That is why I am asking for your help to keep my dream alive. I made the courageous move from South Africa to pursue my professional tennis career in the United States, as there is an abundance of opportunities here which comes with the superior training facilities, coaches and trainers. I managed to save enough money to come to the States but unfortunately that has not been enough to keep me going.
