Kodiak Nets is seeking a Principal Hardware Engineer to drive the development of an advanced embedded system. In this foundational role, you'll work hands-on alongside our ML and software engineers to design, prototype, and deliver rugged field devices. As our first hardware engineering hire, you'll be directly building our prototype, setting up our engineering lab, and collaborating with manufacturing partners. Based in our Boston or Southern New Hampshire location, you'll be deeply involved in daily technical work while helping shape our hardware engineering capabilities. We're looking for a team member who brings deep technical experience in embedded systems development, optical engineering, and ruggedized device design, and a commitment to hands-on execution. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the starting team who will develop and integrate cutting-edge machine learning technology to enhance the angler’s experience and to further environmental conservation. The successful candidate will help create solutions that advance our understanding and protection of natural resources while pushing the boundaries of what's possible in edge ML deployments.
