Kingfish Trading careers
Kingfish is an online broker-dealer that primarily relies upon its Smartphone application to facilitate trading of basic securities products, such as stocks, options, ETFs, and cryptocurrencies, for amateur retail traders. The platform also includes messaging forums, educational tools, and a virtual stock market to acquaint young persons under 18 with the basics of trading.
Unlike Robinhood Financial, the industry leader for online retail trading, we hope to invert their predatory, anti-consumer Payment for Order Flow ("PFOF") model by allocating a significant percentage of order flow to price improvement, rather than commission. Robinhood has been mired by controversies surrounding this practice, and unfortunately, there are few -- if any -- viable alternative broker-dealer applications on the current market offering a better alternative.
Most of the alternatives now available, such as those platforms offered by TD Ameritrade and Charles Schwab, cater to sophisticated clients with lengthy investment experience and significant financial means. We are not tailoring our product to these investors with $50k or $100k account balances; we want the amateur trader, starting with little or nothing, looking to get his or her feet wet with an easily accessible and trustworthy platform.
Beyond that, we hope to equip our platform with a virtual stock market and Reddit-like discussion forum to combine the best tools and resources available to young would-be traders, all in a single forum.
One of our principal goals is to educate -- and we have taken our plan to the SEC to solicit ideas about how best to protect amateur traders, both in terms of education and preventing them from being ripped off by Robinhood/Citadel conflict-of-interest type controversies.
