Jiveworld starts where other language apps and methods stop. To become a fluent speaker, you must first be a fluent listener, able to understand a wide variety of natural accents and styles, spoken at native speed.

Most learners are only exposed to made-for-study simplified forms of their target language. This "slow" language will only get you part way: you need to work with real language to reach real fluency. Jiveworld provides this, as a self-study mobile experience, using a unique approach to training with radio and podcast stories.

Our first app, lupa.app for Spanish, launched in 2019 in partnership with Radio Ambulante, an award-winning podcast that produces true stories, in This American Life style, in Spanish for native speakers.

We are a small self-funded company with a long-term view, building to own (not to sell). Our team is distributed. We manage ourselves, and live a balanced life where we can enjoy what we do year after year.
