A Prediction Market for Weather and Catastrophic Events
HOW IT WORKS

1. PLACE NODES
Most weather and catastrophic events are geographical in nature. The trader makes predictions by placing points (called 'nodes') on a map where they think the intensity of the event will be the highest.

Each node costs the trader IrisVector tokens roughly proportional to the duration by which the node will stay on the map.

2. MONITOR
Over the duration of the event, each node will accumulate a score based on measurements of the event. For example, if the event is a storm system, node locations that experience the highest level of wind and rain will accumulate the highest score.

3. PAYOUT
When the event has dissipated, node scores are tallied and assigned a token value based on their score and the total number of tokens paid into the event pool by all traders.

Part of the total paid-in portion is allocated for charity or research for the relevant catastrophe event, and the trader can cash out the value of their node.
