Job Description – Data Scientist GOCAP is a UK Fintech revolutionising the consumer credit market based on data driven decisioning. Constantly expanding our capabilities, we are looking for a Data Scientist to spearhead the improvement and implementation of automated and ground-breaking decisioning models. GOCAP is looking for an energetic new addition to its fast growing and capable team. The role of Senior Data Scientist requires the ability to ‘think on one’s feet’ and be ready to grasp and take responsibility with an outlook to becoming Chief Technical Officer. GOCAP has raised a substantial amount of capital in its last round and is ready to deploy that capital and the team towards disrupting the industry of personal loans. Job requirements: • English proficiency: fluent in speaking and writing. • 3+ years of experience as a data scientist, with a strong suit in machine learning models, knowing where to use each one of them and how to optimise their performance. • Experience with one or more programming languages such as R, Python, Scala, Swift or Java. • SQL and NoSQL storage, such as MySQL and PostgreSQL, especially in cloud-based environments (AWS is a plus). • Experience in developing end-to-end ML models and integrating these with third-party APIs. • Being able to be productive with minimum supervision. • Versatility and flexibility to take on task that are required and being able to decide the best possible approach and execute the necessary steps. • Excited about entrepreneurship; eagerness to learn and grow with the team and the company. Day-to-day consists of: • Developing and deploying scalable and reliable models in R and Python, including predictive features. • Working shoulder-to-shoulder with management and company leadership. • Deploying the models in a secured cloud environment (AWS), using SageMaker, Lambda and API Gateway. • Integration of our services with third-party providers outside the cloud.
