Lives cut short due to treatable medical emergencies is arguably the greatest cause of loss of human potential in the world. Fully 1⁄5 of deaths from emergency events in the U.S. could be prevented with the right care delivered at the right time. Format Health is a tech startup with the goal of preventing needless deaths from medical emergencies. We build data collection and decision support systems to augment human delivery of emergency care across in-hospital, military and "everywhere else" settings. The core existing technology utilizes touch and voice interface to collect data during emergency events, automates QI reports and patient records, while providing cognitive aid to support care teams in real-time compliance with guidelines via timers, prompts, and built-in dosage calculators. The collected data will ultimately help inform global standards of care around emergency care.
