Exscientia pioneered the emerging pharmatech sector and is the first company to design drug molecules entirely by artificial intelligence that are heading into the clinic. We are neither a traditional biotechnology nor typical software development company - our mission is to design better drugs faster using the latest science, best software engineering practices and the knowledge acquired from seasoned drug hunters. Our product are novel therapeutics, not software or technology as a service. We built software with the intent to solve the problems we are facing, not to sell. The work environment is therefore extremely collaborative. Engineers, scientists and drug designers work as a team to deliver results. The Engineering team is an integral part of Exscientia and constantly improving the capabilities of our AI-driven technology platform. Our engineers work very closely with our researchers to implement new tools and methods with performance, scalability and availability in mind. They help our medicinal chemists to leverage the platform and use their feedback to improve its usability. The nature of our work is highly interdisciplinary and addressing the challenges we are facing requires a vast array of skills. In our work culture, team members are learning from each other and are strongly encouraged to continuously extend their expertise by attending training courses, workshops, or industry conferences.
