Jobs at Epoch Games

Epoch Games is an indie, volunteer-based, all-online, global game development team developing an open-world, low-fantasy medieval RPG called The Lays of Althas: Sundered Order (LOA:SO). We are an equal-opportunity group: as long as you possess at least the minimum requirements of the job, the passion to commit, and the willingness to learn, you have a good shot of joining our ever growing team of 30 (as of this posting). LOA:SO is looking to stand out from other RPGs in the market by prioritizing the following philosophies in our game design: - Urgency: Achieved when time/date is always moving in the game, and events can occur in the world whether the Player is there to experience them or not. - Obligation: Achieved when great responsibility is given to the player and they are given the option to ignore said responsibility and have great consequence occur because of their bad decisions. - Vulnerability: Achieved when the Player is put in the role of a mortal man, like the other characters in the world, and must overcome great challenges in order to actually become great. - Unpredictability: Achieved when unexpected results can occur in the game, and the cause can be the player (be it willingly or not) or an outside force.
