EatForCharity careers
EatForCharity is an online food, drinks, groceries & medicine marketplace that caters to travelers. We launched abruptly in Shenzhen, with just 7 restaurants in February 2020, during the outbreak of the COVID pandemic in China, with a mission of helping to raise money for local charities, by giving them 25% of our revenue, and to help expats in the city order food when dine-in services were suspended.
Our target market has been limited to the expats living in China as the borders have been closed since March 2020; however, our goal is to target the 1.9 billion annual global travelers and help them overcome problems related to currencies, language, dietary restrictions, getting support in their language, etc., when trying to order online abroad for dining out at restaurants, or for delivery. When border restrictions ease after COVID gets under control, there will be a flood of travel and we plan to be well positioned when that happens.
EatForCharity currently operates in 7 different languages and has already been immensely popular in the small expat enclaves we’ve been operating in. We’ve expanded to over 150 shops in 11 cities across China and have partnered with Meituan, Dada, and SF-Express to form the largest delivery network in the country.
We’re currently generating over $42,000 in monthly revenue from more than 1,300 customers (400 of them being extremely active) and are now seeking investors and partners to help us update our services to work internationally as quickly as possible. Chinese tourists, for example, will play a major role in the tourism industry, and our ability to help them pay using familiar tools like WeChat Pay & AliPay, and get support in their language, when eating at restaurants in Paris, for example, will be a huge advantage.
Our platform is built and operating well in China. To go international; however, we need a new app and to make updates to our website. We also need to decide where to make our home base for international operations.
