In a time where standardized testing and rote learning take precedence, creative writing is seen as a ‘frivolous waste of time’ in many classrooms. Students pay the price as writing becomes a means to ace exams. This has led to many kids feeling checked out, stressed out, and isolated, prompting their parents to find other ways to help with the creative aspect of their learning. Dreamwriters was made for kids between 6-12 years old who are homeschooled or in primary school. We help nurture their creativity and promote literacy by providing artwork and writing prompts to stimulate their imagination, editing suggestions that are relevant to the individual, and the opportunity to collaborate with their friends on stories.
