In the view of International Maritime Organisation introducing regulations (IMO 2020) addressing pollutant gas emissions, Daphne has developed SulPure: a next-generation technology for exhaust gas purification. SulPure is an all-in-one, ready to install, turnkey solution for the shipping industry that simultaneously removes both SOx and NOx pollutants from marine engine exhaust gas. The key to the SulPure system is the NanoScrubber, which contains a cartridge system with nanofunctionalised surfaces that convert SOx and NOx to an agricultural fertiliser. SulPure thus produces zero waste, saves 50% in fuel costs, providing a simple and sustainable solution to ship owners to purify exhaust gas emissions and comply with tightening air pollution regulations.
