Our vision is to advance the field of female reproductive health with science and technology. Choosing contraception is trial and error. Various sources are showing that at least 40% and up to 80% of women are dissatisfied with their contraception. On average women change the method 3-4 times before finding a suitable type (Rosenfield, Everett, 2000). In the meantime, many experience side effects (such as migraines, irregular bleeding, pain, loss of libido, mental health problems) and as a result, ⅓ of women stop taking contraception in the first year (UN, 2019) This has a global impact on women’s quality of life, reproductive health, and productivity. Some women may experience severe adverse reactions such as blood clots (oral contraceptives can increase the risk of VTE up to fourfold). There are 13 different types of contraception and >200 different brands, all with different benefits, side effect profiles, hormonal formulations, and dosages but no method to match the right drug to the patient. We are a diverse and multi-disciplinary team, passionate about the potential of personalised women’s health. We are supported by a range of academic institutions, experienced advisors, data scientists, entrepreneurs and healthcare innovators.
