We are a group of experienced operators... who enjoy working with breathtaking colleagues... on endlessly interesting but overlooked problems... impacting big numbers of ordinary people. We care deeply about our craft but don't take ourselves too seriously. We value work-life balance and having fun in a comfy, in person environment - but aren't terribly interested in Tuesday night happy hours. We love to travel. We all have interests, commitments, and community outside the four walls of our laptops. We "speed but pay our tickets on time." We care deeply about moving quickly. It's more rewarding when you step back and look at both the team's progress and your personal growth. We do, however, understand that we need to take the time to ensure debt is monitored and paid down regularly. We know this will help us achieve our goals faster in the long run. "The pressure of the market makes diamonds." We embrace the pressure the market puts on our business. It makes our organizational muscles stronger. Responding directly to this pressure is the source of defensible competitive advantage. We are weary of "short-term" fixes that tempt teams to invest in non-strategic functions with resources that could be pointed towards long-term differentiation. For example, if it's hard to get onboarded to our platform, we don't throw bodies at the problem and build an intensive implementation team. We invest in the effort to make onboarding easy. We write. Writing is a magical introspection and communication device. See a problem you're having trouble following to the source? Write about it. Have a personal conflict you're struggling to tackle? Write about it. Want to have an efficient meeting on a complex issue? Write about it. We are more strategic, faster operators because we understand the power of writing. We do what we say we're going to do because we don't want to let each other down.
