Cognition Med is an early phase company founded by two physicians practicing in rural communities who were unable to get critical patient data quickly and conveniently from colleagues in their region. They set out to solve this problem with a basic, patient-centered, medical collaboration platform that optimizes modern mobile technology not accessible to providers through traditional health IT. Beta testing with over 100 providers has helped confirm their fundamental premise that better provider collaboration improves care. We are looking for a lead engineer to help us architect and build our foundation. There is a huge opportunity in healthcare. Health systems are focused on the electronic medical record (EMR), which are not interoperable and based on dated technology. Cognition Med is creating mobile technology tailored specifically to how providers think and work. We are looking to find motivated engineers to help us think creatively and leverage tools related to natural language processing and text summarization. Developing technology that allows providers to work efficiently while documenting their progress improves access to care and patient outcomes. Cognition Med is not looking to build an app. We are focused on transforming healthcare by simplifying processes and reducing the IT burden providers face daily, giving them more time with their patients.
