Code for Africa careers

Code for Africa is the continent’s largest network of indigenous civic tech labs, data journalism newsrooms and open gov partnerships, with member labs in eight African countries, affiliate newsrooms in 14 countries, and major funded projects in a further 10 countries.

We work with governments, grassroots citizen organisations, and the media to help liberate data and empower citizens, by building hyper-local and hyper-personal technologies that give citizens actionable information to make better informed decisions about life & death issues.

Our programmes include tool building, data digitisation, forensic digital investigation and knowledge development, with a strong emphasis on civic engagement.

Our investors include Google Jigsaw, Google NewsLab, Omidyar Networks, World Bank, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Knight Foundation, and a host of smaller philanthropies.
