Clarivent Medical Inc. (“The Company”) is a Vancouver based startup with the goal of creating innovative respiratory equipment. We are focused on lean innovation to create cost effective devices that can be abundant and accessible for low-resource hospitals, without compromising on quality. Currently, we are developing a non-invasive positive pressure ventilation (NIPPV) helmet cloacialy known as the “Clarivent Bubble Helmet (CBH)”. This non-powered ventilation device encloses a patient’s head creating a positive pressure environment that helps patients breathe and deliver oxygen. This environment provides enough respiratory support to obviate immediate escalation to intubation and provides aerosol containment while maximizing patient comfort and compliance. The CBH is a versatile form of Non-Invasive Positive Pressure Ventilation (NIPPV) that can interface with high-flow oxygen, Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) machines, Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure (BiPAP) machines, and ventilators (with a minimum flow of 30 L/min) to treat patients. While the CBH was specifically designed for COVID-19 patients, this device provides an alternative NIPPV solution in many clinical scenarios where pre-ventilation respiratory is required. CBH may also play a role in optimizing critical care resources by obviating the need for invasive ventilation in some cases, freeing ICU equipment for patients in fulminant.
