ChirpSense started with a simple idea: technology should help us feel more connected to the world around us, not pull us further into our phones.
I’m building ChirpSense as a beautiful, single-purpose bird sensor for the home. It listens for birds nearby, identifies what it hears, and displays the bird on a refined AMOLED screen. No app. No phone. No endless scrolling. Just a calm, glanceable way to notice the nature already happening around you.
Most bird identification products today are built around apps. They ask you to take out your phone, open a screen, record a sound, and interact with another digital tool. ChirpSense is different. I want it to live quietly in your space, almost like a small piece of functional art. It listens in the background and turns everyday birdsong into something visible, beautiful, and easy to understand.
For me, this product is about more than identifying birds. It is about creating a softer relationship with technology. I love the idea of a device that does one thing well, feels beautiful in the home, and makes you more aware of the life outside your window. Whether it sits near a kitchen window, on a desk, or beside a favorite reading chair, ChirpSense is meant to become part of the environment instead of competing with it.
The experience is simple: place it in your home, let it listen, and glance over when birds are nearby. The screen can show the bird being detected, simple information about the species, and a soft visual interface that feels more like a nature object than a gadget.
