Become a paid CDPAP caregiver for a loved one of yours. CDPAP stands for The Consumer-Directed Personal-Assitance Program. This program allows eligible Medicaid consumers/recipients to recruit, hire, and direct family members and friends as paid CDPAP caregivers. The Medicaid recipient is eligible if 21 or older needs help with daily living activities because of a disability or a long-term health condition. CDPAP caregivers are not required to have a Home Health Aide (HHA) license. Therefore, they can start to work immediately once the patient is approved. In addition, they can have flexible schedules and work because the patient controls the caregiving. The patient Medicaid plan fully funds the program. Our CDPAP caregivers get paid weekly. However, the hourly rate depends on the patient's location. Medicaid determines the number of home care hours the patient needs through a couple of assessments. We provide CDPAP services in all 62 Counties of New York State. In addition, we offer entirely free Medicaid support services for those patients who don't have Medicaid and need home care services.
