The $14.5B US medical courier industry is antiquated and ripe for a tech-enabled service: • Highly fragmented nature and lack of innovation of courier companies has resulted in an industry surviving on manual processes; • Structurally inefficient with unnecessary intermediaries leading to unreliability and increased turnaround time, on top of the bottlenecks occurring internally at medical institutions; • Nontransparent workflow leading to preventable mistakes and no real chain of custody, leading to adverse effects on the patient’s wellbeing (which I have, unfortunately, experienced first-hand).
