Buffalo Automation careers
Shipping companies are in a state of crisis due to changes in global trade patterns and need to cut costs to survive. A major cost in shipping operations is labor, which amounts to around $13K per vessel every day. Buffalo Automation has developed automation technology that can be installed on both existing ships and new builds to reduce the burden of this problem.
Our product does the following:
1. Avoids obstacles autonomously without human intervention.
2. Automatically navigates the most optimal route, saving fuel and cutting voyage time.
3. Manages dry-bulk cargo unloading, ensuring stability and safety of the vessel.
4. Provides data analytics to improve efficiency of operations.
Our product, implemented in a dry-bulker of the Great Lakes for instance, can save $600,000 annually in labor costs. Our ultimate vision of autonomous unmanned ships can save $23 million per vessel over 25 years according to the EU funded MUNIN.
