Bright Silicon Technologies careers
Bright Silicon Technologies is pioneering the state-of-the-art in solid-state beam control in both free space and fiber optics. Our technology platform, the Lightfield Directing Array (LDA), offers a unique combination of speed, precision, stability, and digital flexibility for the exquisite control of light. The LDA will revolutionize optical systems by enabling the next generation of high-speed, highly parallelized, low loss optical switches for data centers and optical communications terminals for free-space networks.
We invented a chip-scale solution for steering light far more precisely than ever before. It's a MEMS segmented micromirror array, driven by a stack of analog and digital logic integrated into the unit to ensure high speed, large range and precision feedback operation. The LDA concept was initially developed as a side project during graduate school. Originally envisioned as a cool way to make 3D TVs that don't need glasses, it has gone through many revisions and application ideas. For over a decade the underlying technology was nurtured in the national laboratory system until they achieved a functional benchtop demonstration. Bright Silicon Technologies was established in 2020 to transform the laboratory bench demonstration of the LDA into a commercial unit and develop products utilizing this revolutionary technology.
