blue{shift} teaches children a creative approach to coding. Our aim is to inspire a broad spectrum of children to code and make computing accessible to everyone. We encourage children to be creative in their work while learning about the core principles of computer science. blue{shift} is based in London and teaches children aged 5-16 to code through classes and workshops. We create our own teaching materials utilising a number of different programming environments, languages and approaches. We are working on a growing number of tools to support our teaching work. blue{shift} have recently completed a series of books on coding for primary school students for Hachette and are working on a coding book for parents. OUR MISSION We believe that if taught with a focus on creativity, learning to code will not only equip children with the technical skills they need to excel in the future, but will also teach them critical problem solving skills. blue{shift} was founded in September 2013 by Heather Lyons , a user experience designer with 15 years industry experience. The company was founded as a response to an increasing demand from parents to provide a coding education for their children that would equip them for the world of tomorrow.
