Acquired by Thinkful in 2018, Bloc was the first online coding bootcamp. Today, Bloc offers career-minded adults remote training programs in software development and design. Bloc programs are entirely online and highly structured, with project-based curriculum vetted by hiring managers, and guidance and support from experienced professional practitioners in the field. In 2014, Bloc raised a $6M Series A investment led by Shasta Ventures and joined by acclaimed seed investors Harrison Metal, Baseline Ventures, Learn Capital, and First Round Capital.

Not everyone can quit their job to sit in a classroom to acquire the skills they need, so we've committed to offering an online alternative that is just as effective and more accessible. No prior development or design experience is required to enroll in Bloc, but a strong desire to learn and take on challenges will be important in your success!
