American Speech-Language-Hearing Association is a national association for audiologists, speech-language pathologists, speech and hearing scientists, support personnel, and students. The organization has more than 182,000 members and affiliates. Its mission is to empower and support speech-language pathologists; audiologists; and speech, language, and hearing scientists by advocating on behalf of persons with communication and related disorders, advancing communication science, and promoting effective human communication. American Speech-Language-Hearing Association was founded on December 29, 1925 and is based in Rockville, Maryland.
