SpellBound created ARISE, an augmented reality tool that motivates and monitors patient mobility. Using games and reward-based activities, ARISE is engaging enough to distract from the pain that is often a barrier to movement, and fun enough to allow patients to be self-directed in their recovery so that care teams are freed up for more clinical tasks. Our behavioral database tracks and reports patient movement in real-time and helps patients recover faster, with fewer complications, so that hospitals can do more procedures with less staff intervention during the recovery period. ARISE is used in hospitals across the U.S. in medical-surgical units for post-surgical recovery and in oncology units to improve patient quality of life.
