Cheruvu is a data-driven enterprise that provides site-specific advice to farmers in developing countries. Our solution combines climate data, soil tests, and farming practices to help small farmers make smarter agricultural decisions that reduce input costs and increase crop yields.

Our key service includes two parts: first, we provide a comparative assessment of a subscribing farmer’s previous year yield with respect to fellow farmers in the village (the nudge to act); and second, we conduct assessment of soil nutrients available in the individual farmer’s plot and provide farmer friendly advice on best nutrient practices - quantity and timing of application - specific to the plot (site-specific actionable analytics).

Our overall goal is to reduce risk and thus debt for small farmers. We plan on leveraging machine learning algorithms and selling anonymized data products to reduce costs for farmers while conveying a quality product that can help farmers do more with less.
