Smoke Free uses behavioural science to help people stop smoking. We combine what science currently knows about quitting with an experimental nature that's designed to uncover brand new techniques. We’ve already determined how to double a user’s chances of quitting and are certain there's much more we can do. We’re profitable, proven (No. 1 iOS stop smoking app, 4m downloads, 4.7 rating) and growing. And we’d like your help to accelerate that. The problem we address is a big one. Smoking is the leading cause of preventable illness and death worldwide. Stop smoking and almost all the harms associated with its use are eliminated. However, stopping smoking is extraordinarily hard. It takes an average of 20 attempts before someone is successful. Better techniques to help people quit are desperately needed. Finding such techniques will have benefits way beyond smoking. The vast majority of attempts to eat better, exercise more or drink less are not sustained long-term. Most of us can start a new habit, that’s relatively easy. Keeping it going? Whole other matter. Behavioural science does not yet know how to help people maintain new habits. It needs to learn, and quickly. The consequences of smoking tobacco, drinking too much alcohol, making unhealthy food choices and not being active enough kills and harms far more people than any contagious disease. These are all changeable behaviours, though. And we’re set-up to help people change them. We’ve got a world-leading scientific committee, a thorough understanding of change and 4,000 new users a day to A/B test different techniques with. This gives us an unrivalled ability to iterate our way toward an ever more effective stop smoking product. Our aim is to become the most effective and widely used stop smoking product of all.
