PHP / Laravel Brainpower

A warm hello to my fellow humans of AngelList, WellFound, or whatever it chooses to call itself.

We are a research consultancy, and work on all sorts of wild things. Please feel free to look us up, at www.thedreamers.us.

We are looking for somebody who enjoys learning and working with a team of lighthearted professionals, with good humor and an easygoing remote atmopshere with almost no meetings. However, we care immensely about doing good work, and rely on each other to do so.

We need a deep understanding of PHP / Laravel, and MySQL. Basic javascript (Jquery) experience is also required.

More important than all these, is your ability and interest in understanding complex systems. What we build is cool, but it isn't easy, so you will be challenged, and if you like learning, that will be fun for you- if you don't enjoy learning, well- what the hell are you doing in a field that changes as often as tech?

Experience managing linux systems is a big plus. Fluency in AWS and their various services puts you ahead too.

US Citizenship is also a plus, though not strictly required.

What I can promise you: I will value your input extremely, I will value your time, and in short, you will be treated with a lot of respect. You will not be alone in the hustle. It is a company of people who enjoy what they do extremely and know how to work hard, but we also know how to decompress, and respect the off-time outside of work, because balance matters. You will not be micromanaged; you will be given creative freedom and expected to make things happen on your own.

What I need from you: Give a damn, don't give up when it seems impossible, be willing to work hard while you're working, to respect our timelines and the deadlines that allow us to pay the bills, and be good at it.

You can work from anywhere. Work from the beach for all I care.
