Pay rate range - $125/hr. to $130/hr.Fully OnsiteFocus: Opens the panels and fixes the robot when it breaks — owns the equipmentEquipment design: mechanical, electrical, controls, and ladder logic codingKey platforms: Siemens, ABB, FANUCPLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), robot programming, machine vision, pneumatics, safety systemsExperience flexibility: Could be 8 years with an engineering degree OR 20 years without a degreeBS in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Controls Engineering (or equivalent hands-on experience)Must have personally commissioned automated lines (SAT, bring-up, debug)Description:8+ years' experienceOVERVIEWWe are landing a set of automated and semi-automated production lines, built with automation integrators, into our facility. We are hiring an Equipment / Automation Engineer to get these lines installed, running, and reliable — and to keep making them better over time. You own the machines: commissioning each line with the integrator, then owning uptime, controls, and continuous improvement once it is running.WHAT YOU'LL DO• Land the lines: Lead installation and bring-up with the integrator. Own SAT — validate each line against spec and drive the punch list to closure.• Keep them running: Own equipment uptime and reliability — PMs, spares, failure analysis, and fast troubleshooting when something goes down.• Own the automation: Debug and improve the control systems — PLCs, robotics, motion, vision, and safety.• Make them better: Improve uptime, OEE, and equipment performance over time; implement upgrades and changes.• Document it: Maintain machine specs, electrical/mechanical drawings, spare-parts lists, and PM procedures.• Work the integrator: Be the technical point of contact to the integrator for issues, changes, and support.REQUIRED• B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Controls engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.• 8+ years in equipment, automation, or controls engineering with hands-on ownership of automated production equipment.• Has personally commissioned automated lines — SAT, bring-up, and debug — working with integrators or OEMs.• Hands-on PLC programming on Allen-Bradley and Siemens — able to read, modify, and debug line logic directly.• FANUC robot programming and troubleshooting across servo/motion, machine vision, and pneumatics.• Machine safety systems: safety PLCs and safety categories, robot safety, light curtains and guarding, and LOTO.• Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.• Track record keeping equipment running — uptime/OEE, PMs, and root-cause failure analysis (DMAIC, 5-Why, Fishbone, 8D).• Able to operate independently on-site.PREFERRED• Architect-level controls depth: writing or restructuring Allen-Bradley / Siemens PLC logic from scratch, FANUC robot programming and cell setup, and standing up machine-vision systems (e.g. Cognex).• CAD fluency for fixture/tooling design and modifications (SolidWorks / CATIA).• Experience integrating equipment to a plant MES / data system for uptime and quality tracking.
