Backend Software Engineer (Node.js)

A) What You'll Be Doing

• Design, develop and maintain backend services, RESTful APIs and server-side applications for the web and mobile platforms.
• Implement backend business logic for journey planning, trip management, electronic ticketing, payment processing and operational reporting.
• Design, manage and optimize database structures, queries and data-processing workflows to ensure data integrity and system performance.
• Develop and maintain integrations with third-party platforms, GPS tracking devices, ticketing terminals and other IoT systems.
• Build background jobs, scheduled tasks and asynchronous processing workflows, including proper error handling and retry mechanisms.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve backend issues to maintain system stability, security and availability.
• Write clean, maintainable and testable code, supported by appropriate unit and integration tests.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions and software deployment activities.
• Collaborate closely with frontend developers, product managers and operations teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

B) What We're Looking For

1) Technical Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in software development, with relevant hands-on experience in backend development.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and Node.js. Experience with TypeScript and backend frameworks such as Express.js or NestJS is an advantage.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design, authentication, authorization and secure data handling.
• Good working knowledge of relational databases (SQL), preferably PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases, particularly MongoDB.
• Experience using Git and GitHub for version control and collaborative development.
• Good understanding of software development principles, data structures, debugging and application performance.
• Familiarity with application deployment, server environments and production troubleshooting.

2) Good to Have

• Experience working with AWS, Google Cloud or other cloud infrastructure.
• Familiarity with Redis, MQTT, message queues or asynchronous processing.
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Exposure to Java or other backend programming languages.
• Experience integrating external APIs, payment gateways or IoT devices.
• Familiarity with GPS tracking, geospatial data, real-time systems or data-intensive applications.
