Senior Project / Program Manager – Client Engagement Technology

Location: Hybrid in New York, NY (3-4 days onsite)

Employment Type: 12-18+ Month Contract

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Project / Program Manager to lead critical, cross-functional technology initiatives within its Client Engagement domain. This individual will take ownership of complex projects and multi-workstream programs, driving initiatives from initial planning through execution and delivery.

In addition to project and program delivery, this individual will serve as the Portfolio Manager for the Client Engagement domain as part of the organization's PMO Practice. Working closely with the Agile Coach and domain leadership, they will maintain visibility into the overall project portfolio, including priorities, dependencies, risks, capacity, and delivery progress.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Program Management

• Own the end-to-end delivery of complex, high-priority technology projects and programs, from initiation and planning through execution and completion.
• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, milestones, timelines, resource requirements, and success criteria.
• Manage multiple workstreams, coordinating dependencies, sequencing, integration points, and delivery across teams.
• Proactively drive progress, follow up with stakeholders, resolve blockers, and maintain accountability for project outcomes.
• Identify and manage risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies (RAID), implementing mitigation plans and escalating concerns when necessary.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across business, product, engineering, IT, data, vendors, and system integrators.
• Ensure alignment between project governance, delivery milestones, and established Agile processes.

Portfolio Management – Client Engagement Domain

• Maintain a consolidated view of the Client Engagement domain's project and initiative portfolio, including status, priorities, timelines, dependencies, capacity, and business value.
• Partner with the Agile Coach to provide domain leadership with accurate and current portfolio visibility.
• Prepare and lead regular portfolio review meetings with domain leadership.
• Develop executive-level reporting and presentations highlighting project progress, key decisions, risks, dependencies, and escalations.
• Monitor portfolio health and proactively identify resource constraints, competing priorities, and potential delivery conflicts.

PMO Practice Contribution

• Contribute to the broader PMO Practice by supporting consistent project management standards, governance, and reporting.
• Develop and improve project management templates, processes, tools, and delivery practices.
• Share lessons learned and successful approaches to improve project execution across the organization.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• 8+ years of experience in project and program management, with a proven track record of delivering complex, cross-functional technology initiatives.
• Experience managing multi-workstream programs involving multiple teams, stakeholders, and technology platforms.
• Strong technical understanding of software development and enterprise application environments. Must be comfortable engaging in technical discussions, challenging estimates, and identifying delivery risks.
• Demonstrated experience delivering projects involving CRM platforms, particularly Salesforce, and internal enterprise mobile applications.
• Experience working across business and technology teams, including engineering, product, IT, data, and external implementation partners.
• Practical experience operating within Agile environments, including Scrum, SAFe, or similar scaled Agile frameworks and PI Planning.
• Experience with project portfolio management, executive reporting, and portfolio review processes.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to independently drive initiatives, manage competing priorities, and maintain accountability for delivery.
• Full professional fluency in English is required; native-level proficiency is preferred.
• Experience within retail, luxury, or consumer brands is a plus.
