Job Description
Database Developer
Experience: 4-7 years
Migrates and rewrites database objects from Sybase T-SQL to PostgreSQL PL/pgSQL, and validates data/object parity.
Key Responsibilities
- Convert Sybase database objects (stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, jobs) to PostgreSQL equivalents.
- Resolve syntax and behavioral differences between Sybase T-SQL and PostgreSQL PL/pgSQL.
- Support schema conversion and data validation/reconciliation between source and target.
- Unit test converted objects against defined test cases.
Required Skills
- 4 -7 years of database development experience, with hands-on Sybase and PostgreSQL skills.
- Strong SQL and PL/pgSQL (or equivalent procedural SQL) skills.
- Experience with database migration/conversion tooling is a plus (e.g. AWS SCT, Ispirer).
