Role Overview
You will join a small senior team taking over a business-critical rules engine written inVisual C++ on Windows Server with SQL Server. You will learn the system directly fromthe engineers who built it, then take ownership of features, fixes and production support.One of the three openings will also cover a related artwork management application.

Key Responsibilities

• Shadow the client's engineers, then take over development and maintenance of assigned modules.
• Build new features and fix defects in C++ and SQL Server.
• Write and tune stored procedures, functions and queries.
• Investigate and resolve production incidents (L2/L3 support), including on-callrotation.
• Document the parts of the system you learn: data flows, business rules, deploymentsteps. Pair with QA to automate regression testing of the areas you own.

Must have

• 7+ years of professional C++ development, mostly on Windows (Visual C++ / MSVC,Visual Studio).
• Strong SQL Server: stored procedures, T-SQL, query tuning.
• Experience maintaining and extending a large existing codebase, not only new builds.
• Solid debugging on Windows, including multithreaded code and memory issues.
• Version control with Git and working in Agile/Scrum teams.

Nice to have

• MS Access or VBA (some legacy components still use it).
• Ruby on Rails or Kafka.
• Windows application development beyond server-side code (MFC, Win32 or similar).
• Experience in telecom billing, trading platforms, CAD/engineering software or otherlong-lived C++ products.
