Our client is seeking a Sr. Application Developer to provide ongoing support for a cloud-based database environment and the integrations connected to it. This person will be the go-to technical resource for a physics-enabled digital twin platform that supports risk modeling, asset inspections, and geospatial data processing. The role is part of a collaborative team and partners closely with business users and outside vendors.
Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing support for AWS Aurora databases, including schema and table changes, data validation, performance troubleshooting, and coordination of security updates.
- Design, support, and troubleshoot system integrations, including REST APIs, JSON-based interfaces, data replication pipelines, and connections between the digital twin platform, databases, and enterprise tools.
- Maintain and enhance S3-based image repositories and imagery upload processes to keep them reliable and efficient.
- Code, test, debug, and document application changes, data pipelines, and configuration updates.
- Investigate and resolve escalated incidents and recurring problems, identify root causes, and document fixes to prevent repeat issues.
- Advise on database access, backups, upgrades, disaster recovery, and application security in line with enterprise standards.
- Support end users with configuration and report generation, and work with vendor partners on platform changes and releases.
- Write and maintain support procedures and documentation, and mentor less experienced team members.
Qualifications
- Eight or more years of experience in application development and support.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS databases (Aurora preferred) and AWS services such as S3.
- Proven experience building and troubleshooting integrations using REST APIs, JSON, and data pipelines.
- Working knowledge of LiDAR or geospatial data processing, plus familiarity with digital twin or similar modeling platforms. Experience with a specific platform is not required.
- Solid background in incident and problem management, with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently while collaborating with business partners and vendors.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
