About the job
I am working on an innovative business model and channel that builds a unique bridge between the hospitality industry and the mattress industry. I aim to connect premium mattress shoppers with private showrooms for mattress testing by leveraging the short-term market.
Buying a mattress is easy, finding the proper mattress is not. The problem is that there is no way for consumers to thoroughly test mattresses prior to purchasing. Leaving them with headaches and cumbersome return or exchange processes and fees if the purchase is unsuccessful. On the other hand, there are about 1.7 million short-term rentals across the U.S with an average 50% occupancy rate with hosts eager to find ways to maximize their potential.
I am looking for a co-founder/s who is/are able and willing to invest time and effort and perhaps some money to help launch and validate Waytosleep. If you are not a risk taker and not willing to get your fingernails dirty or sacrifice, please skip. The ideal co-founder is someone who has an income but is willing to go full time when ethical investor funding is available. The ideal co-founder is one who is not willing to take money from anyone that is complicit in genocide.
I have been bootstrapped since the inception of this startup. The startup is pre-validation but I think there is a huge potential to turn it into something very meaningful, it can only become meaningful with the right people. The right co-founder can either buy their way in as an equal or have sweat equity with no financial responsibility. Due to the nature of the startup, I am looking for a software engineer with e-commerce or marketplace experience and a business analyst/ project manager with hands on experience.
I bring in an understanding for the problem Waytosleep aims to solve, better than anyone else. For over 12 years, I have dealt with customers face to face and it is because of my experience and passion for helping people pick the right sleep system that I chose to peruse Waytosleep.
