Applications Developer - Iowa

This is a full-time position working onsite in Des Moines, IA. Candidate must live within a reasonable commute of Des Moines, IA or be able to relocate.

Ruan is seeking an Application Developer to analyze, design, develop and implement new or existing applications using Agile methodologies. The Application Developer works in a team environment to design and develop enterprise level software applications, data structures, and processes to meet the needs of Ruan Transportation Management Systems. The successful candidate will follow and improve the software development life cycle with an agile approach to delivering software. Application Developers work closely with their team on architecture, design, and code reviews. Collaboration skills are an emphasis with business analysts and other agile roles to identify new opportunities for software innovation.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain enterprise-level applications and software. Analyze, plan, develop, test, review and document applications and systems.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to ensure application development meets the needs of the business and follows IT guidelines & principles.
• Understand how new or existing applications fit into the current environment identifying risks, feasibility, cost, and compatibility.
• Contribute and adhere to Ruan’s software development life cycle.
• Proactively seek opportunities for continuous improvements and innovation.
• Work with external vendors on development and defect resolution.
