About the role
We’re looking for experienced data engineers to contribute their expertise to projects across data pipelines, warehousing and analytics. This is a remote, part-time contract role. You’ll use your professional judgment to assess data work and explain your reasoning.

Responsibilities

Review and assess data work, including SQL, pipelines and analytics reports.
Give clear, detailed written feedback on correctness and reasoning.
Create realistic tasks, reference solutions and evaluation criteria.
Contribute to projects across ETL/ELT, orchestration and experimentation.
Requirements

3–5+ years building and owning production data pipelines.
Strong SQL and Python.
Experience as a data, analytics or data platform engineer, or data architect.
Preferred

Owned a warehouse or pipeline end to end.
Debugged silent data-quality failures.
Run or critiqued A/B tests.
Snowflake, BigQuery or Databricks certifications.
Tools and frameworks
SQL, Python, Spark, Kafka, Airflow, dbt, Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks

Terms

$60–$120 per hour, paid weekly. The rate for each project is agreed in writing before you start.
Independent contractor, fully remote. Flexible hours, typically 15–40 a week.
Projects run from a few weeks to a few months.
