The intern will have the opportunity to work alongside Engineering, Production, Test, and Quality teams while developing practical technical and problem-solving skills and contributing to continuous improvement, root-cause problem solving, product quality and manufacturing efficiency.

Essential Duties & Learning Opportunities

The Electronic Engineering Intern may assist with:

  1. Reviewing and interpreting electronic schematics, drawings, specifications, and related technical documentation.

  2. Supporting engineers and technicians with electronic testing and troubleshooting activities, including electronic, wire harness/cable, and electromechanical assemblies.

  3. Learning the proper use and operation of electronic test equipment and test fixtures.

  4. Assisting with the review and development of test instructions, procedures, and other technical documentation.

  5. Supporting troubleshooting of test, fixture, component, and electronic assembly issues, including identifying potential root causes and supporting corrective actions.

  6. Collecting, documenting, and analyzing test results and engineering data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

  7. Assisting with the identification and documentation of quality or manufacturing issues.

  8. Learning and applying established test standards, engineering procedures, and customer requirements.

  9. Supporting engineering projects related to process improvement, testing, manufacturing efficiency, or product quality, including continuous improvement and root cause problem solving activities.

  10. Gaining exposure to computer-aided design (CAD) tools and other engineering software applications.

  11. Collaborating with Engineering, Production, Quality, Test, and other departments to gain an understanding of the complete electronics manufacturing process, including wire harness/cable assembly and electromechanical assembly operations.

  12. Participating in engineering meetings, project reviews, and problem-solving activities as appropriate.

  13. Completing assigned engineering projects under the direction and mentorship of qualified engineering personnel.

  14. Performing other related duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
