Senior Database & Data Platform Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Senior Database & Data Platform Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Santa Clara, CA. Ideally looking for applicants with a solid background in Data Bricks, SQL, AWS, Splunk and Python preferred.

Rate Range: $60/hour to $65/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

EMPLOYMENT TYPE/DURATION:12+ months

COMPENSATION: Pay Rate: $60-$65/hour

LOCATION DETAILS: 2-3 Days Onsite, Santa Clara, HQ

Support applications by designing, optimizing, and maintaining scalable database and data-integration solutions across operational and analytics workloads.

Core Skills

• Advanced SQL
• PostgreSQL and relational database design
• Database architecture, schemas, normalization, indexing, and query optimization
• ETL / ELT development and data pipelines
• API-based data integration
• Python for data processing and automation
• Performance tuning and troubleshooting
• Large-volume data handling
• Data modeling
• Experience integrating multiple enterprise data sources

Strongly Preferred

• Microsoft Fabric / Databricks
• Splunk
• SAP or enterprise system integrations
• REST APIs / MCP integrations
• Power BI backend/data-model experience
• Cloud database experience
• CI/CD and Git
• Experience supporting web applications and analytics platforms

Expected Responsibilities

• Design database architecture, and applications.
• Build and optimize schemas, queries, stored procedures, indexes, and data models.
